Recovery means learning other ways to communicate despair: therapy, art, all expressive arts, journaling:
Ways to learn how to discover the words to verbally express one’s emotions, (pain) rather than holding it in and turning it against yourself.
Self injury is a warning sign that the person is distressed.
Self injury is a MARKER that this person is going through a desperate period of their life.
Self injury does not define you.
